Govt. Officials should Work with Integrity to take District to Greater Heights – Minister Khader

Mangaluru: “To take the DK District to greater heights all the government officials and elected members should work with integrity. Dakshina Kannada has various Temples and tourist places. The Endowment department has developed a website which gives all the details of the temples, their location, route and the distance from the city. Dakshina Kannada is not only a tourist spot but people from other districts, states and countries come here to visit various Temples. The website will help those interested to learn more about the Temples they want to visit’, said the district minister in-charge U T Khader while launching the website www.dkannadatemples.com at the DC office here on August 2.

Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “After becoming the district minister in-charge I have held discussions with all the officials. The Government has given me an opportunity to serve the people of Dakshina Kannada. As the minister, I want to perform my duties well taking into confidence all the officials and elected members of all the parties. We should all join hands and work for the development of the district. Development related issues should be free of any politics. Together we should successfully utilize all the government schemes”.

U T Khader further said, “In Dakshina Kannada district there is 40% more rainfall this year compared to last year. There was damage of property as well as loss of life, 9 people have lost their lives and we have compensated their family members with Rs 45 lakh (Rs 5lakh each). As many as 1014 houses were damaged for which Rs 1.22 crore compensation has been distributed. In the district crops in 252.07 Hectares of land were destroyed and Rs 19 lakh compensation was distributed to those affected. The government has also compensated victims of natural disaster with Rs 1.85 crore and Rs 7.65 crores have been reserved for the same. We have also estimated the loss of the buildings, bridges, public roads and public property. The district administration is all set to assist the victims.”
