Happy Hogging! Indulge Yourselves in the Taste of Biryani/Kebab at ‘Biryani & Kebab’ Fest at Taj Gateway

Come along with family or friends for a tempting tour to the world of aromatic flavours of age old traditional cuisine that would create a tingling in your taste buds made from the secret recipe of expert chef Pardeep, specially flown in from Delhi, who is a master Chef at the “Yellow Brick Road Restaurant” at the iconic Taj Ambassador, New Delhi, who has added well chosen exotic spices and ingredients. Taj Gateway has a niche for coming up with amazing food fests at regular intervals at their restaurant. This Monsoon they have this Fest that is sure to bring a smile to everybody’s face because its Kebab & Biryani ! The buffet spread is vast with a lot of unheard biryani’s to choose from.

Melt-in-the-mouth kebabs, hot plates of Biryani and rich meaty curries, kept Mughlai fans super happy at Biryani & Kebab Festival, on the First day, Friday 17 August 2018. A blend of heady aromas of exotic spices and flavours from North India has come alive in the hotel kitchen of Taj Gateway-Mangaluru where chef Pardeep along with in-house Chef In-charge Sinu Vijayan and assistant chefs, dish out delicacies thrown open to the Mangalorean public, offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. From authentic spices to tender meats, aromatic rice, Subzi {veg dishes} and Roti {Indian Bread} would be presented at this 10-days long Fest. Succulent Kebabs, mouth-watering biryani and filling desserts will surely enliven the experience with many other treats, which Mangalorean foodies have been waiting for.

Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Peter Nirmal, the General Manager of Taj Gateway-Mangaluru said, “Mangaluru is a city of foodies. In order to bring something new and yummy, we have introduced this exclusive Biryani and kebab food festival and it is already trending among the people who are a biryani and kebab fan. Biryani is a dish that is a favourite for many and when there’s a combination of kebabs, nothing can beat the taste. Each month we are trying to introduce something new in Food Festival, so that food lovers of Mangaluru can savour some authentic and tradition Indian, Chinese, Thai or other cuisines of the World. Food and Beverage Manager of Taj Gateway, Noor Mohammed also speaking said, “We at Taj believe that food is celebration of life. The monsoon season is here and it brings the thought of relishing some lip-smacking kebabs, accompanied by lip- smacking Biryanis that constitute a memorable dining experience. We have planned to surprise our guests with a sumptuous spread of soups, salads, starters, spiced kebabs, variety of Biryanis curries and off course, for all those with sweet-tooth, we have desserts. So beginning with the starters to sum-up with desserts, this Fest has all that you’d think of. It has some delicious and unique variety of dishes and chances are that you might not have tasted these at any time or any place earlier. And all the Biryanis, Kebabs and other delicacies are meticulously prepared by Chef Pardeep hailing from Narela in North Delhi, who has been associated with the Taj for over six years. He has had worked in the “Yellow Brick Road Restaurant” and has been instrumental in the authenticity and the luster of the food served in the iconic Taj Ambassador, New Delhi. Specialized in Lucknowi and North Indian Cuisine, Pardeep says that Learning never stops, and that he finds South India interesting, although this being his first visit to Mangaluru or any Southern Indian city. Pardeep holds a diploma from the RIGS institute of Hotel management in Noida. His father retired from the railways and none in his family dons the chef’s hat. He is the father of two boys and his wife is a home maker.

Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Chef Pardeep said, “This Fest is a delight to someone who loves tandoori food and its grilled textures. So foodies, do not miss this festival as this the perfect treat for you. I am sure the food here won’t disappoint you at all, that guarantee I can definitely give! Delhi food lovers come to the ‘Yellow Brick Road Restaurant at Taj ambassador hungry, they enjoy the sumptuous food spread and return home happy. The menu comprising of three sets served on different days during the Fest offers a vast range of mouth-watering specials with a fine melange of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, with soups, starters, salads, main course and desserts. This festival is focusing on the rich and gorgeous selections of kebabs and Biryanis from famous cities of India. When it comes to food at Taj, it is always brilliant. Starters : Broccoli malai, Dahi ke kebab, Yellow brick fish tikka, Murgh tikka; Main course- Biryani like Kaale moti ke biryani, Subziyon ki tehri, Chote miya ke mutton biryani, Murgh tikka masala chaval, Mirchi ka saalan, Home style chicken curry, Yellow dal tadka; Assorted Indian Breads. Dessert-Cut fruits, Phirni, Moong dal halwa, Bulls eye with Ice cream

Set 2 Menu:

Soup-Tamatar dhaniya shorba, Yellow brick mutton soup; Salad-Green salad, Dahi wada, Gajar aur sulatan salad, Shredded egg salad, Tandoori sumundari salad, Bhurani Raita; Starters-Palak ki shammi, Laal mirch ka paneer, Ajwaini jhingha, Murgh tikka mirza husnu; Main course-Biryani, Soya chunks, Veg biriyani, Bade navab ki Mutton biriyani, Chicken biryani, Baingan ka saalan, Dhaba ka murgh, Dal makhani; Assorted Indian Breads; Dessert-Cut fruits, Shahi tukra, Saffron rice kheer, Bulls eye with Ice cream

Set 3 Menu:

Soup-Akroot aur palak ka shorba, Murgh saffrani shorba; Salad-Green salad, Kurkure idli channa chat, Tossed salad, Chatpati mahi salad, Desi Murgh salad, Mixed veg Raita; Starters-Dal ke kebab, Dhaniya mirch ka paneer, Haldi chilli tawa machi, Haryali tangdi kebab; Main course-Biryani, Khatal ke biryani, Zafarani dry nuts biryani, Samundari Machli ke biryani, Murgh khorma biryani, Aloo ka salaan, Naari gosht, Dal masala; Assorted Indian Breads; Dessert-Cut fruits, Malpua, Carrot halwa, Bulls eye with Ice cream
