HC Orders FIR against 6 Accused-Son in US hopes for Closure on His Missing Mom’s Case

Mangaluru: On Sunday, 6 January 2019 Team Mangalorean received a call from Seattle, Washington-USA from Satish Shetty, hailing from Charkottige-Kundapur presently working in a IT company as CEO of Codeproof Technologies Inc in US and settled there with his wife and two kids, explaining about the four years old case about his missing mother, and now that the High Court has ordered the police to file FIR against six accused, hoping that there would be a closure on this case at the earliest. Sathish said, “There is an update regarding my mother Malathi Shetty missing incident which happened on June 24th, 2015 from Charkottige, Hosamata, Udupi Dist. On 2 January 2019 the High-Court filed an FIR section 302 on six local persons through Kundapur police in regards to second habeas corpus petition that we filed recently with the high court through our lawyer H Pavan Kumar Shetty. I have emailed the documents for details”.

“We have waited for nearly 4 years now, and we still don’t know exactly what happened to my mother. We are requesting the police department to do a thorough investigation this time, now that the HC has ordered them to file FIR on six accused. My family is a looking for closure on this, thereby looking forward for justice for my mother. We want to know what happened to my mother. This is an elderly woman safety issue. It is learnt that now Kundapur police have registered an FIR as per the orders of the High Court against six accused hailing in and around Charkottige. As per the orders of the High Court, the accused are identified as Harsha, aged 25, the Owner of the Maruti Van in which Malathi Shetty was transported, and also Huliya (45), Gopal (25), Dinesh ( 25), Sandeep Soora (23) and Pradeep Soora (25). The police are investigating the case. In the meantime, it is also learnt that Charkottige Karunkar Shetty, a neighbor of Malathi Shetty has revealed to his friends that he has murdered Malathi Shetty and looted the gold she was wearing at the time of the crime. It is said that Karunakar Shetty under the influence of alcohol in a bar was blabbering about this murder under in a bar and three youngsters seated in the bar next to Karunakar namely Sudhir, Vijay and Sukumar, spilled out the news. The police are also looking into this in details.
