HJV Secretary Karthik Stabbed to Death at Sampya, One Arrested
Puttur: The secretary of Hindu Jagaran Vedike was brutally murdered during Ganeshotsava at Sampya here on September 3 midnight.
The deceased has been identified Karthik Suvarna from Aryapu Merla.
According to sources, on September 3 at around 11:30 pm during the Ganeshotsava celebrations Charan Raj, Kiran and their vehicle driver Prithesh barged into the Ganesha Pandal using foul language against Karthik. Kiran then pulled Karthik out of the pandal while Prithesh stabbed him in the chest with a sharp weapon.
Karthik was severely injured and bleeding. When locals gathered all the three fled in their car bearing registered number KA 21 Z 234 along with the weapon.
Severely injured Karthik was rushed to Adarsh Hospial but he succumbed to injuries on the way.
It is learnt that old rivalry led to the murder of Karthik.
SP Laxmi Prasad visited the spot. Puttur Rural police have registered a case under section 504, 341, 302 and 34 IPC.
