Huge Tree Falls in KMC Manipal; Leaves Two Injured, Four Vehicles Damaged
Manipal: Two people were injured after a huge tree fell on them in front of KMC Manipal Trauma Centre on Friday. Four cars were also damaged in the incident.
The injured victims, who were sitting under the tree, were treated in KMC hospital and their condition is said to be out of danger.
The tree, which was located near the KMC Trauma Centre, came down in the afternoon and crushed four cars that were parked under it.
According to forest officials, the tree was about 40 years old and had huge branches. The roots might have weakened owing to recent rain and other factors.
The forest officials, along with fire department officials, cleared the road from the scattered branches of the tree.
