Hurry Up! Last date for enrolment of Manipal Arogya Card extended

Mangaluru: KMC Hospital held a press meet at the Press Club, Urwa here on July 29.

Addressing the mediapersons Medical Superintendent of KMC Hospital Dr Anand Venugopal said, “One of the largest Non-insurance; Non-Governmental Healthcare scheme in India which covers pre-existing diseases having no upper limit on usage and no age bar. The last date of enrolment for Manipal Arogya Card 2016 has been extended till August 20, considering the public request”.

He further said, “The Manipal Arogya Card Scheme is a social initiative of Manipal University which enables the members to avail medical treatment facilities at cheaper and affordable prices. The scheme is applicable to the Manipal Group hospitals in Coastal Karnataka. Anyone can become a member of the scheme by paying a small sum as membership fee and will receive his investment back as concessions after using the card two or three times”.

image002kmc-manipal-arogya-card-20160729-002 He also stressed that the enrolment for Manipal Arogya Card Scheme began on May 3, 2016, and was supposed to close on July 31. Since there is a huge response from the public the membership enrollment has been extended till August 20.

Applicants who have enrolled by July 13, can avail regular scheme benefits from 1st August 2016 for one year. Applicants enrolling in the extended enrollment period i.e. between 1 August to 20 August 2016 are eligible for scheme benefits from August 25 onwards.

Dr Anand Venugopal stated, “The enrolment figures for last year were about 1.50 lakh members, indicating the popularity of the scheme. The Manipal Arogya card holder can also avail benefits at any of the Manipal group Hospitals at Mangaluru, Udupi, Karkala and Manipal any number of times during the year.”

Explaining the benefits of the card, Dr Anand said that Manipal Arogya Card provides Free OPD consultation at KMC Hospital Attavar and 25% concession on Super specialty Consultation charges at KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle. There is a 25% discount on diagnostics tests like Ultrasound, X-ray, CT Scan, MRI Scan and Laboratory investigations at KMC Hospital Attavar & 10% discount at KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle.

For Inpatients, there is a flat 25% concession on the bill (excluding consumables) in General ward admission for any number of times during the year at KMC Hospital Attavar and 10% discount at KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle. Also, there is up to 10% concession on medicines purchased from the Hospital.

The Manipal Arogya Card members can also avail 25% discount on all Preventive Health Check Packages at KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle.

Manipal Arogya Card membership fee is priced at just Rs 270/- for an individual card and Rs 550/- for a family card. The family card includes the cardholder, spouse and all the dependent children below 25 years of age. An add-on card is also available for the parents of primary card holders under the family card scheme for Rs 100/- per parent. For renewal card, 10% discount on membership fee is offered.

Manipal Arogya Card 2016 Application forms are available with all Manipal Health Enterprises network hospitals in Coastal Karnataka and can also be enrolled through designated Agents. Syndicate Bank Branches in Karnataka and North Kerala would also be providing enrolment facilities at their branches.
