Expanding Hydrogen Technology and Industrial Applications
HYDGEN has executed more than 20 projects across India, Singapore and Thailand over the past 12 months, recording sales exceeding USD 1 million, according to the company. The new Ganjimutt facility is intended to support the next phase of growth by enabling the production of larger systems, serving more customers and developing a local network of component suppliers. The company aims to serve customers in India and international markets.

The event programme included a tour of the manufacturing facility, allowing visitors to observe stack assembly, system integration, testing, and hydrogen quality checks conducted at the site.

Dr. Ashish Lele, Director of CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, delivered the keynote address on advancing hydrogen technologies in India from laboratory research to commercial applications.

Expert talks and panel discussions explored the transition of membrane electrolysers from pilot-scale units to multi-megawatt plants, the growing economic viability of on-site hydrogen production for industrial users, and financing strategies to reduce hydrogen production costs.
The programme brought together policymakers, government officials, researchers, academics, investors and entrepreneurs from across India to discuss developments, opportunities and challenges in the hydrogen sector.

About HYDGEN
HYDGEN designs and manufactures modular PEM and AEM electrolyser systems that generate hydrogen on-site and on demand for industrial users. The company is headquartered at its manufacturing facility in Ganjimutt, Mangaluru, where research and development, membrane and catalyst development, stack manufacturing, system assembly, testing and quality checks are carried out in India.

HYDGEN develops solutions for manufacturers in sectors such as lab-grown diamonds, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals and semiconductors, where reliable supplies of high-purity hydrogen are essential. With projects delivered across India, Singapore and Thailand, the company aims to strengthen India’s capabilities in on-site industrial hydrogen generation and supply both domestic and international markets.

A significant share of HYDGEN’s electrolyser units has been supplied to diamond manufacturing companies in Surat, Gujarat, a major centre of India’s diamond industry. These installations reflect the growing adoption of on-site hydrogen generation in the lab-grown diamond sector, where a reliable supply of high-purity hydrogen is essential for manufacturing.

HYDGEN’s growing presence in this market highlights the potential of its domestically developed electrolyser technology to meet the specialised requirements of industrial customers across India.
