‘I Will not be Able to Attend the Funeral of Shiroor Swamiji’ – Pejawar Swamiji
Udupi: “I will not cut short my programmes in Hubballi to attend the funeral of Shiroor Swamiji Laxmivara Theertha. If I get the call to attend the funeral from the Asta Maths I will look into it”, said Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math to the mediapersons at Hubballi.
Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math is on a tour to Hubballi to attend various programmes.
Speaking to the mediapersons Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji said, “The death of Shiroor Swamiji was unexpected and it is a shocking news. May the Shiroor Swamiji’s soul rest in peace. I have programmes at Sirsi at 3 pm, I will attend the programme and will travel to Udupi at night. I will not attend the funeral and it is not customary to attend”.
Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji further said, “On July 18, I came to know about Shiroor Swamiji’s health condition. I do not know what kind of food he had consumed and where he had lunch? Through media, I came to know that Shiroor Swamiji died due to poisoning”.
Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji also said, “The police will take necessary measures to investigate the case. I will not comment on the poisoning issue.”
