Ideal Ice Cream sponsored ‘Rotoquiz 2018’ to be hosted by Rotary Club of Mangalore
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Rtn. Dr. M.Vasanth Pai – President, Rotary Club of Mangalore said, “The Rotary Club of Mangalore & Rotaract Club of SDM PG Centre for Management Studies, in association with Rotary Club of Bangalore take great pride in announcing the Inter-Collegiate General Knowledge Quiz named “ROTOQUIZ 2018” to be held on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 at SDM PG Centre for Management Studies & Research, MG Road Mangaluru.. This is the third year we are organizing the same, but in Bangalore it has been organized for the last 58 years. We had a record number of 31 institutions and 61 teams taking part last year. Our finalists went on to win the third place at the state level held at Bangalore last year”.
He further said, “The winning team gets the opportunity to participate in the final round of 59th Ramnarayan Chellaram Annual Inter Collegiate Quiz – ROTOQUIZ-2018 at Bangalore finals on Monday the 17th of September. This is one of the longest running live college quiz shows in the world. This is organised by Rotary Club of Bangalore and Rotaract Club of Bangalore on Monday, September 17th at Bangalore with participation from over a 100 institutions from Bangalore”.
Rtn Mayur Sheregar – Director, Youth Services briefing about the quiz said, “Details of the quiz: as per the format, there will be a Written Preliminary Round followed by Semi-Finals of top performing teams. The winner of these rounds will go to Bangalore. Topics for all rounds will be General Knowledge and Awareness. After that Maximum of two teams, of 2 students each, will represent one college. However, only one team from a college will be selected for Semi-Finals, even if more qualify. This Quiz is Open to students from Std. XII or PUC 2nd Year upwards including under graduates and post graduate students from any stream from a recognized academic institution”
“The Prizes for the Mangalore Round is Sponsored by Ideal Ice Creams, Mangaluru, where First, Second, Third place prizes are Rs.10,000, Rs. 5000, Rs. 5000 respectively. The Bangalore Round is sponsored by Chellarams Jewellers, Bangalore. In addition to the rolling shield, individual trophies and certificates, cash prizes will be: First, Second, Third, Fourth place prizes are Rs.20,000, Rs.15,000, Rs.7,500, and Rs.5000.00 respectively: added Rtn Sheregar.
