If Congress has Capacity Let them Rename LHH Road after Mulky SS Road – Jitendra Kottari

Mangaluru: “The Congress and JD(S) coalition party does not have any issues to contest the elections. They don’t have anything to speak against our candidate so they are repeatedly speaking against the merger of Vijaya Bank and the flyovers in Pumpwell and Thokkottu. I would like to tell them if the Congress has a real concern about the merger of Vijaya Bank, let them first name the Lighthouse road after Mulky Sundaram Shetty because they had stopped the renaming of that road. If they can’t do it, we will do it after we come to power in the state and MCC”, said Jitendra Kottari in a press meet held at the BJP election office here on April 5.

Addressing the mediapersons Jitendra Kottari said, “A former MLA had stayed the renaming of the lighthouse road during the Congress tenure. Congress does not have any moral rights to speak against the merger of Vijaya Bank. In 2013, the Siddaramaiah government was in power but in 2018, in DK and Udupi, the Congress lost seven seats. The Anti-Hindu policy of Siddaramaiah led to the defeat of Congress in 2018. Now the coalition government is in power and they too are following the same policy. After 7 MLAs from the BJP were elected from the district, no communal violence has taken place. “

Jitendra Kottari further said, “Congress spokesperson Vinayraj in a press meet had questioned about the contribution of our MP candidate to the district. I would like to tell the Congress leaders that in 5 years of tenure MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has brought Rs 16500 crores for the development of the district. We have all the documents of the funds brought by MP Nalain for the development projects like the four-lane road from B C Road – Yettinahole, plastic Park, Smart City, fishing Jetty, Amrit nagara yojana, etc for the district. The work is going on and it will take some time to complete. The MP is unable to spend the funds brought from the Central government for the four-lane road since the state government is not cooperating.”

Jitendra Kottari also said, “Congress is always talking about the Pumpwell flyover, but I would like to bring to the notice that the Ashraya Yojana in Ombattukere, Ullal is pending from the past 13 years. Let them complete that project first. The four-lane road from Mangaluru – Talapadi – Suratkal – Kundapur – Goa has not completed since it has be given through the BOT system. The government has given the project to a private company to construct the road. Who was in power when the road was given for construction through BOT(Build–operate–transfer) contract? The project was given to the Navyug company by the UPA government for kickbacks. Now Navyug is facing huge loss and is unable to pay the salary of their employees. Because of the UPA governments mistake, Dakshina Kannada has been facing problems. Nitin Gadkari had sent officials to inspect the flyover work and the work will complete soon. Congress is spreading propaganda. The Narendra Modi government has given good governance and in the forthcoming elections Modi will come to power.”

When asked about the work done with the funds Rs 16500 brought to Dakshina Kannada by MP Nalin Kumar, Jitendra said, “The Smart City work has already started. More than Rs 7000 crores will be spent on the road development from BC Road – Polali – Kinnigoli – Mulki four-lane. The tender has been passed and within 2 to three years the work will complete. The Four Lane road work from Melkar – Thokkottu and Bikkarankatta – Karkala will also begin soon.”

Jitendra Kottari alleged that the UPA government had given the contract to Navyug to construct roads to get kickbacks. When questioned whether the Rafael contract was given to Reliance to get Kickbacks to Modi, Jitendra said, “The Supreme Court has ruled out any wrongdoing”.

Rukmayya Poojary, Sanjay Prabhu, Krishnappa, Prabha Malini and others were also present.
