‘I’ll Give Rs 10 Lakh & You 224 Karnataka State MLA’s Challenge Me in Giving Rs 20 Lakh to Fight COVID-19’- Lady Lawyer V Shailaja Amarnath from Puttur
Mangaluru: In a video shared on her Facebook account, Advocate V Shylaja Amarnath from Puttur, has announced that she will donate Rs 10 lakh to fight against the coronavirus, and has thrown an open challenge to all the 224 MLA’s of Karnataka State, urging them to contribute Rs 20 lakh each to fight Covid-19.
Her Facebook post has been shared by more than 20,000 users and her challenge has gone viral on social media, where over 7,000 people have liked the post and over 4,000 people have commented applauding her challenge too.
Her video message in Kannada on her Facebook wall states “Dear MLAs and MPs, take it as a challenge or offer. Let us form a COVID Eradication Committee (CEC). I will contribute Rs 10 lakh, which is my hard-earned money for that committee. It is known to the public and your conscience that you spent crores of rupees during the elections. When I contribute Rs 10 lakh, each of the 224 MLAs can donate Rs 20 lakh. Spend the money for your own respective constituencies for the eradication of COVID-19,”
