IMD Red Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Udupi District
Udupi: The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert on August 5 for wind and heavy rainfall in Udupi district over the next two days.
In Udupi district, heavy rainfall is expected for the coming two days. Rains have also caused severe waterlogging in many parts of the district.
Fishermen along the coast have been asked not to venture into the deep sea over the next 48 hours.
In the past 24 hours, Udupi district received an average of 49.0 mm rainfall. Kundapur received the highest of 64.0 mm rain followed by Karkala-52. 0 mm, and Udupi-32.0 mm.
