Impersonator arrested in Police Constable Recruitment Examination

Bengaluru: A 28-year-old youth was arrested by the Nelamangala police for attempting to appear as a proxy candidate for another youth in the ongoing Police Constable Recruitment Examination at Nelamangala here on September 20.

 

The arrested has been identified as Shivaprasad (28) from Velagalaburre post, Srinivaspura taluk, Kolar District.

According to the police, on September 20, the written examination for police constables Recruitment was held at the Sri Basaveshwar, and Siddaganga College. 11 candidates out of the 20 had appeared for the test at Siddaganga College. One of the candidates Manjunath M alias Muniappa, registration number 5526131, had also appeared for the examinations.

While checking, the photograph appeared on the hall ticket did not match with the candidate. Even the date of birth and the signature were not matching. The Principal and the in-charge of the Examinations, Shivanna got suspicious and informed the CPI of Nelamangala.

The Nelamangala police immediately arrived at the spot and took the candidate into custody. During interrogation, the name of the person who appeared for the examination was revealed as Shivaprasad.

The Nelamangala police registered a case against Shivaprasad under section 417, 420, 465, 468, 471 and 34 IPC.
