Indian Society for Training and Development Chapter Inaugurated at Alva’s Engineering College

Moodbidri: The 53rd Chapter of the country’s premier Training and development society, Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) was inaugurated at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mijar on 22 March.

Dr Meera Venkat, Chairperson, Bangalore Chapter of ISTD was the Chief Guest. She expressed her happiness over the efforts put by Alva’s Education Foundation in providing a congenial learning environment with the emphasis being laid on values and overall development of personality. She said ISTD will equip students with new skills and problem-solving abilities.

T C Sajit, Chief Human Resource Officer, Bangalore International Airport Ltd. was the Guest of Honour. He called upon students to develop new skill-sets to move ahead with time. With artificial intelligence making inroads in the field of business, it is vital for fresh graduates and post-graduates to stay updated, he said. There is a need to focus on human relations and that will become a key source of success, Sajit added.

Another Guest of Honour, Varagha Swamy, Fellow ISTD and Consultant discussed the need to be effective leaders in modern times. He urged students to be focussed and dedicated to making an impact in their chosen field.

Managing Trustee, Alva’s Education Foundation, Vivek Alva presided over the programme. Dean MBA and Chairman, Mangalore/Udupi Chapter, ISTD Prof P Ramakrishna Chadaga welcomed the gathering. Prof Gurudatt Somayaji anchored the programme and Prof Dharmanand offered the vote of thanks.
