J R Lobo Still Thinks He’s The Boss to Control MCC Officials- BJP

Mangaluru: Tit-for-tat, after former MLA J R Lobo had led a protest against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel against latter’s slow action on NH 66 work near Kankanady Pumpwell a few days ago, it was now the turn of BJP to give a befitting reply by holding a protest against J R Lobo today, 8 August in front of MCC building. Chanting slogans like “Dikkara Dikkara…J R Lobo ge Dikkara” and so on, leaders of BJP including former MLA Yogish Bhat, MLA North Dr Bharath Shetty, and many others joined in the protest.

Addressing the gathering BJP corporator Premanand Shetty said, “Former MLA J R Lobo still thinks he’s the boss to control the activities and projects undertaken by Mangaluru City Corporations, and directs the officials and corporators, what to do and what not to do. He’s not an MLA anymore, he should know that to govern MCC. We are here to protest on two issues-one is that we have come to know that Congress is trying to provide a furnished office to J R Lobo, which he was using it when he was the MLA, located near Kanara Club, Mallikatta/Kadri-Mangaluru. How can Congress take such a decision when it’s a government property, and J R Lobo is not a government leader anymore. We will not allow this to happen. We have already informed the concerned authorities in this regard, and we have learnt that a show cause notice has already been served in this regard”

“In the view of forthcoming Lok Sabha election, J R Lobo is trying to degrade and criticize BJP leaders, and trying to spoil their image, to gain votes for Congress. He is doing this out of frustrations since he lost in the last election, and now he is taking all his frustrations by humiliating BJP leaders. Another issue pertaining to this protest is that even though on 29 July 2016, it was planned to rename the Mangaluru Town Hall in the name of “Kudmul Ranga Rao”, and now two years have passed, the Congress run MCC has not taken any initiative in this regard. We should know that Kudmul Ranga Rao has done lots of service and development work for Mangaluru, and it is befitting to rename this Hall in his name. We are once again warning MCC in this regard, that if no decision is taken in this regard, we will intensify our protests and see that justice is served.” added Shetty.

Corporator Roopa D Bangera and former MLA Yogish Bhat also spoke on the same issues, and criticized former MLA J R Lobo for downgrading BJP through his speeches and protests.
