Mangaluru / Mumbai: In a significant move to bolster rail connectivity and passenger convenience between the vital economic hubs of Mangaluru and Mumbai, the Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti formally presented a memorandum to the Union Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna. The delegation, led by the Samiti’s esteemed founder, Thonse Jayakrishna A. Shetty, along with other prominent office-bearers, met with the Minister on May 23 at Jangama Math in Gurupura.

The core of the memorandum articulated a pressing need for two key enhancements to the existing rail network: the introduction of an additional regular train service and the deployment of a Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach train service connecting Mumbai and Mangaluru. This initiative underscores the Samiti’s commitment to advocating for improved infrastructure and services that directly benefit the populace.

The submission of this crucial appeal took place in the distinguished presence of Mangaluru MP Captain Brijesh Chowta. Upon receiving the memorandum, Minister Somanna demonstrated a proactive approach to the concerns raised, directing MP Chowta to meticulously pursue the matter under his guidance. This directive highlights the Minister’s acknowledgement of the legitimate needs presented and his intention to facilitate a thorough examination of the proposed solutions.

The event garnered considerable local support and participation, with several influential figures gracing the occasion. Among those present were MLA Bharat Shetty, the revered Swamijis of Jangama Math and Vajradehi Math, and key representatives from the Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, including State Coordinator K.P. Jagadish Adhikari and District Chairman Harish Kumar M. Shetty. Furthermore, members of both the district and Mumbai committees of the Samiti, alongside a significant contingent of local citizens, were in attendance, signifying the widespread community interest in and backing for this initiative.

Concluding the formal proceedings, President Nithyananda D. Kotian and General Secretary Mundkur Surendra Saliyan, representing both the district and central committees, extended their profound gratitude to Minister Somanna and all other dignitaries present. Their expressions of thanks underscored the Samiti’s appreciation for the Minister’s time and consideration of their vital request, reinforcing the collaborative spirit in addressing regional transportation needs.
