Jyoti Cycles felicitates winners of Annual contest Trek Mangalore Challenge 2017

Mangaluru: Jyoti Cycle & Fitness conducted Reward & Recognition Program of their Annual contest for their customers – Trek Mangalore Challenge 2017 at their Kadri outlet on July 23, 2017. The evening saw a gathering of more than 60 cyclists from Mangalore including participants, qualifiers, winners of the challenge along with family members and friends. The program was to felicitate the winners and qualifiers of the challenge powered by Trek, Firefox Bikes and Jyoti Cycle & Fitness.

Taking cue from the exceptional good show of Trek Mangaluru Challenge 2015, Jyoti Cycle family wanted to roll out the second season this year. It was launched for a period of 14 days starting from May 15, 2017 and ended on May 28, 2017. The challenge was to acknowledge and appreciate efforts of people, who ride their bicycle regularly in Mangaluru. The winning criteria was purely distance and the tracking was based on Strava. The response we received was overwhelming in terms of participation and the energy levels each rider exhibited. We had around 50 riders registering for the challenge. Overall 39 riders qualified in the challenge by crossing the minimum criteria of 150 Kms. Out of this, 15 riders won Trek & Jyoti Cycle Co-branded Jerseys based on total distance covered. And we had 3 winners from Men and 3 winners from Women rider categories.

At Jyoti Cycles we value our relationship with our customers and therefore giving due importance to the achievers was of utmost priority for us. Hence our chief guests for the evening were the 6 winners of the challenge.

Winners from men’s category were Ashok Lobo, Kishan Bangera and Ankith Shetty and winners from women’s category were Reny Dsilva, Madhura Jain and Sunitha Mendes.

Ashok Lobo was the winner and the champion of the Trek Mangaluru Challenge 2017. He pedalled a total distance of 2581 KMs winning the title trophy in Men’s category. Kishan Bangera bagged the Second position in Men’s Category. He rode a total distance of 2406 kms during the challenge period. And Ankith Shetty bagged the third place in Men’s category. He rode a total distance of 2319 KMs.

Reny Dsilva ranked no. 1 in Women’s category by covering a total distance of 1432 KMs. Madhura Jain bagged Rank 2 in Women’s category. She pedalled a total distance of 1110 KMs. Sunitha Mendes ranked 3 in Women’s category. She pedalled a total distance of 1074 KMs.

Badrinath Nayak Managing Partner of Jyoti Cycle Company handed over the Trophy, Certificates and Trek – Jyoti Cycle Co-branded Jerseys to the winners from men’s category. Rayappa Nayak, Chartered Accountant and a member of Jyoti Cycle family handed over the Trophy, Certificates and Trek – Jyoti Cycle Co-branded Jerseys to the winners from Women’s category.

Winners shared their experience in Trek Challenge and the support they received from their family to win this challenge.

We also rewarded 15 riders who qualified for Trek – Jyoti Cycle Co-Branded Jerseys based on maximum distance covered by them during the challenge. The winners for this were Shawn Patrao, Shyamprasad Nayak, Harivijay Kudva, Drushya D, Srikantharaja Raja, Achinthya Rao, Dr Rajesh Hukkeri, Hari Prasad B, Dony Menezes, Keerthan Revankar, Danny Simon, Hariprasad Shevire, Sunil Mendes, Nishmith Shriyan and Harniish Raj. Jyoti Prasad Nayak, Managing Partner Jyoti Cycle handed over the certificates and Jerseys to them.

The qualifying criteria was to cover a minimum of 150 KMs during the challenge and there were 18 qualifiers and were rewarded with certificates from Trek Bikes & Jyoti Cycles. Badrinath Nayak, Rayappa Nayak and Jyoti Prasad Nayak congratulated and handed over the certificates. The qualifiers were Vernon Saldanha, Ramesh Babu PV, Dr Arun Kumar, Anil Shet, Madhukar SM, Irfan Sheikh, Sarvesha Samaga, Maxim Menezes, Vinay Rayker, Kashinath Pai, Gopal Rao, Dr Ramraj P N, Bunty Raj, Shivaprasad Pavoor, Dijaraj Nair, Mukesh Rao, Zahir Manipady and Ashwitha Karkera.

A video of Trek Mangaluru Challenge 2017 was played covering the photographs and video recording of participants at the end of the forum.

Ganesh Nayak, Managing Partner of Jyoti Cycles & Fitness said participants of the Trek Mangalore Challenge have raised benchmarks of cycling in Mangaluru and expressed his belief that it will continue to inspire many fellow cyclists. He on behalf of all partners thanked all the participants for the overwhelming participation. He also said the healthy competitive spirit exhibited by participants inspires Jyoti Cycle & Fitness and Trek Bikes to continue the challenge in coming years too.
