Karkala Police Resolve House Theft Case in Under 24 Hours, Apprehending Two Suspects
Karkala: Karkala Town Police have solved a house theft case within 24 hours, arresting two accused and recovering gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.
Between 9:10 a.m. on April 23 and 6:00 p.m. on April 24, thieves allegedly broke into the house of Shankar Kulal at Pattonji Katte by forcing open the door and stole gold ornaments kept in a cupboard, including a 24-gram gold necklace, three gold rings, a pair of earrings, and a pair of gold jhumkas, altogether valued at around Rs 2.64 lakh.
Based on a complaint lodged by Shankar Kulal, a case was registered at Karkala Town Police Station.
Under the leadership of Karkala Sub-Division DySP Vijayaprasad, a police team comprising Inspector Manjappa D.R., PSI Muralidhara Nayak, Shivakumar S.R.Within 24 hours of registering the case, the staff conducted an operation and arrested the prime accused, Anand Kulal (40), a resident of Bairampalli village.
Police also arrested Jayaram Acharya (54), a resident of Kaikamba Ajekaru Marne village, who had allegedly purchased the stolen gold.
The police recovered 39 grams of stolen gold ornaments worth approximately Rs 5.60 lakh from the accused. The accused have been produced before the court.
