Los Angeles, April 1 (IANS) Model Karlie Kloss says she used to get picked on by boys at school because of her long legs and slim physique.

“I was absolutely and totally not popular with the boys – partly because I was so good in terms of academics and ballet, but also because I didn’t have time to waste on boys. I did get teased a lot though, because I was so tall and skinny,” Kloss told Glamour magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Kloss began her career when she was 14. And she is adamant she wouldn’t do anything else.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel said: “I really enjoy the performance aspect of it. Which is why I would have loved to have been working back in the supermodel era: the 70s, 80s and 90s.”

Mexican singer faces backlash for violent music video

Mexico City, April 1 (IANS/EFE) Anger over the music video for the song “Fuiste mia” (You were mine), in which singer Gerardo Ortiz kills his girlfriend and her lover after discovering them together, has prompted some Mexican officials and organisations to demand that his upcoming concerts be cancelled.

The attorney general of the western state of Jalisco, Eduardo Almaguer, said that the mayor of the town of Tepatitlan, where Ortiz is scheduled to perform in April, had been urged to cancel the show.

“The videos he’s making and the lyrics of his songs are a clear justification of crime,” Almaguer told Milenio Television.

In the video, Ortiz finds his girlfriend with another man and kills the lover by shooting him in the head.

Then, he locks the girl in the trunk of his luxury automobile and, at the end of the video, douses the vehicle with gasoline and sets it ablaze with a match, apparently with the girl still inside.

When the police arrive, Ortiz is not at the home, and thus apparently he gets away with the crime.

The video, released in January and with 20 million views on YouTube so far, has sparked widespread rejection.

“Singer Gerardo Ortiz’s video clearly invites violence against women, in addition to minimising and normalising this social scourge,” Government Secretary Miguel Osorio Chang, Mexico’s No. 2 official, said on Tuesday in a statement.

Moreover, Osorio instructed the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women to push for measures that will help end the use of stereotypes in the media, particularly those that foment violence against women.

Ariana Grande wants no sexist lyrics in songs

Los Angeles, April 1 (IANS) Singer Ariana Grande wants male singers and rappers to stop using derogatory sexist terms in their songs.

The 22-year-old wants to put an end to the use of derogatory terms in tracks, as well as in real life, to address the opposite sex and insists the vulgar trend needs to “go away soon”.

“When men talk about women in songs it’s like, ‘Oh, hell yeah, ‘h*s and b**ches’,” Grande told mirror.co.uk.

“And if a girl makes a song about a break up then it’s like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe she did that’, or, ‘What a s**t’. Whether it’s the music industry or real life we need to break the standard and it needs to go away soon,” she added.

Acting i like therapy: Idris Elba

Los Angeles, April 1 (IANS) Actor Idris Elba says his “life falls to s**t” when he is not acting.

His comment comes just a month after he split from long-time girlfriend Naiyana Garth.

The 43-year-old actor and Garth, who have 23-month-old son Winston together, went separate ways after two-and-a-half years of dating, and the “Luther” star says shooting films or TV shows is like his “therapy”.

“Therapy is a good way to cleanse my… When I’m not acting is when my life falls to s**t. It’s really interesting. I’m going through this b******s now ‘cos I’m not on a film set. Had I been on a set I wouldn’t even have noticed. Probably,” he said.

The “Wire” actor also shared that women of varying ages find him attractive, but says he first realised he was eye-catching when he was all of 14.

“I sound a t**t saying that,” the star added to Esquire magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Suri Cruise fires music teacher over ‘creative differences’

Los Angeles, April 1 (IANS) Suri Cruise, the nine-year-old daughter of divorced couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has stopped learning to play the guitar after having “creative differences” with her music teacher.

During the visit, the show’s star Alex Brightman asked Suri if she played an instrument. To that, the famous little girl replied that she “used to play the guitar” but no longer had a teacher.

“She said she was ‘a very nice person’ but that it didn’t work out,” pagesix.com quoted the source as saying.
