KCA to Launch ‘Project Quality Cricketers’-a 40-Day Cricket Coaching Camp

Karavali Cricket Academy Launching ‘Project Quality Cricketers’-a 40-Day Cricket Coaching Camp. For the FIRST in Mangaluru, a Bowling Machine; and for the FIRST time Turf Wickets will be used during the Cricket Coaching Camp.

Mangaluru: Karavali Cricket Academy (KCA), affiliated to Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), which is Powered by Experience and Driven by Values, will be launching “Project Quality Cricketers”- a programme of bringing modern technology, quality coaching facilities and innovative training methodology in its forthcoming Cricket Coaching Camp which commences from April 5, 2017 onwards at the University College ground, Mangaluru. The camp will be for a duration of 40-days.

Addressing the media persons, Santhosh Misquith, General Secretary of KCA said, ” During this Camp we will be using a Bowling Machine for the First time in Mangaluru. Apart from that the budding young players of Coastal Karnataka will have the opportunity for the First time to practice and play matches in turf wickets. Video analysis of each young player will be recorded, which is the part of the project. The work of turf wickets is almost completed and will be ready before the Camp starts. Already three Astro-Turf wickets are prepared for the trainees of the camp. Hostel accommodation will be arranged for the out of station participants. Our Academy style coaching style is built upon International Cricket Council (ICC) coaching manual”

Sampath Perera, a reputed Sri Lankan coach will be heading the coaching faculty of the Academy. Srikanth K-a level one coach of ACC, Jayaprakash Shetty, who played for UAE National Cricket and also KPL, and Santhosh Misquith, a level one coach of ICC will be the other coaches during the Camp. Shanthi Veronica Mohan- President, Shaheen- Treasurer of the KCA respectively, Srikanth and Jayaprakash Shetty were present during the press meet.

About Karavali Cricket Academy:

Karavali Cricket Academy (KCA) is a unit of Karavali Cricket Clinic which was established in 1996 and is affiliated to Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). Ever since its inception, it has been working for the benefit of cricket players and cricket enthusiasts towards developing first class cricketers. During the last two decades, it has conducted many successful cricket tournaments. Eminent players and coaches like Javagal Srinath, Syed Kirmani, Salim Durrani, L Sivaramakrishnan, EAS Prasanna, and Dronacharya Awardee Ramakanth Achrekar were technical advisers of the Clinic and coached the youth and made them very successful cricketers.

Shreeshanth, an international cricketer had undergone training in KCA. Realizing that there is a greater need to give orientation to the youth through the skill development programme and owing to the demands and suggestions of Cricket Pandits, a committed Cricket Academy was established. This Academy will be devoted and dedicated to nurture and develop Quality Cricketers with innovative and time beyond programme.
