KCCI organizes a Talk ‘NASSCOM- Mangalore SME Connect’ by Ashok Pamidi

Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry {KCCI}-Mangaluru organizes a Talk ‘NASSCOM- Mangalore SME Connect’ by Ashok Pamidi, Senior Director, National Association of Software and Services Companies {NASSCOM}-Bengaluru.

Mangaluru: NASSCOM {National Association of Software and Services Companies}, a not-for-profit industry association, is the apex body for the 154 billion dollars IT-BPM industry in India, an industry that had made a phenomenal contribution to India’s GDP, exports, employment, infrastructure and global visibility. Established in 1988 and ever since, NASSCOM’s relentless pursuit has been to constantly support the IT-BPM industry, in the latter’s continued journey towards seeking trust and respect from varied stakeholders, even as it reorients itself time and again to remain innovative, without ever losing its humane and friendly touch.

NASSCOM is focused on building the architecture integral to the development of the IT-BPM sector through policy advocacy, and help in setting up the strategic direction for the sector to unleash its potential and dominate newer frontiers. NASSCOM’s members, 2200+, constitute 90% of the industry’s revenue and have enabled the association to spearhead initiatives at local, national and global levels. In turn, the IT-BPM industry has gained recognition as a global powerhouse. In India, this industry provides the highest employment in the private sector.

Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Mangaluru, in association with Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities and Learning {CEOL} organized a talk on “NASSCOM- Mangalore SME Connect” by Ashok Pamidi, Senior Director, NASSCOM, Bengaluru on Thursday, 31 May 2018 at KCCI Meeting Hall. Following the welcome address by Ms Vatika Pai- President of KCCI, and the introduction of chief guest/Speaker by P B Abdul Hammed-Vice President of KCCI, Ashok Pamidi conducted the first session on “NASSCOM SME Member Round-table”, followed by a second session on ” Future Skills for IT Industry”. Following both the sessions, there was an interaction with the participants, where the queries posed at Ashok where elaborately answered by the Speaker.

Ashok said, “NASSCOM is dedicated to expanding India’s role in the global IT order by creating a conducive business environment, simplifying policies and procedures, promoting intellectual capital and strengthening the talent pool. As the industry has expanded into multiple sub-sectors, NASSCOM has built an Industry Council structure that addresses the needs of the specific sector. Focused programs, research, events, industry initiatives are implemented through Industry Councils. Did you know that Medium, small and emerging enterprises comprise over 80% of the total number of firms present in India? However together their total revenue contribution to the IT-BPM exports is 60% as compared to 40% coming in from the top larger companies. NASSCOM want to bring eMarketplace Portal discussion with SMEs and will also discuss on Market access, Training & re-skilling and adopt effective innovation.”

Nearly 50 persons participated in this informative talk and gained lots of information about growth in IT. Sashidhar Pai Maroor-Hon secretary of KCCI delivered the vote of thanks
