KCO Abu Dhabi’s Konkani play, Futlli Modki entertains audience

Konkani community in Abu Dhabi experienced a storm of Comedy by the “MataroCharbela” team’s latest drama, “Futlli Modki” on Thursday, 13th June 2019. The play presented by Konkani Cultural Association (K.C.O. Abu Dhabi) at the British School Auditorium was a Full House show enjoyed to the core by every person in the audience.

The evening began by M.C. Mrs. Reena Pinto calling upon Fr. Rodson Goveas (spiritual director of KCO and St. Joseph’s Konkani community Abu Dhabi) on Stage to invoke God’s blessings on the artists and the audience present in the hall. Honorable President of KCO CA Valerian Dalmaida welcomed the gathering and gave a brief insight about the benevolent work KCO has been doing in the past 24 years since its inception in 1995. He also thanked all the Sponsors who have stood by KCO in the past 24 years and requested their continued support in the years to come, especially in the year 2020 as KCO would be celebrating its Silver Jubilee.

Once again, Francis Fernandes Cassia a writer, comedian par excellence held the audience for more than two and a half hours with his comedy centered drama “FutlliModki”. His great ability of taking up the entire weight of the play on his shoulders playing lead role held the audience for more than two and a half hours with his comedy and impeccable punch lines. Julie Vaz indeed brought a laughter Tsunami on stage true to her name in the Play (Tsunami). Accompanied by the rest of the artist, Betty Naz, Gregory Sequeira, Peter Coutinho, Shanthi Barboza, Vincent Castelino and Flora D’souza, the play was able to make the audience glued to their seats until the end of the play.

The actors made justice to their characters under the effective direction of Joy Paladka with some great music, excellent dance moves as per the need and the stage lightings beautified the play. Broadway Events did an excellent job with the stage setting, Sound and lighting which enhanced the beauty of the play.

Francis Fernandes Cassia and Joy Palladka were honored by the Hon. President, Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer of KCO Abu Dhabi with a shawl, memento and a basket of fruits. The accompanying artists were honored by the Advisory board members of KCO with flower Boquete’s. Mrs. Sandhya Vas rendered the Vote of Thanks and Mrs. Reena Pinto did a great job in compering the event with her own comedy touch. The show ended at 10:45 pm with people asking for more.

Once again KCO Abu Dhabi has delivered a top-notch event and the success of the program is attributed to the generous support of the talented artists, appreciative audience and dedicated team efforts &organizational skills of KCO.
