Kerala priest stabbed by Italian in Melbourne; out of danger

Thiruvananthapuram, March 19 (IANS) A Catholic priest from Kerala was attacked by an Italian on Sunday when the former was leading the Sunday mass in a Melbourne church.

“The priest, Tomy Mathew, was stabbed in the neck with a kitchen knife by the Italian during the mass at a Catholic church in Melbourne suburbs,” said Thiruvallom Bhasi, editor of a Melbourne daily who is currently visiting here.

“While the ceremony was on, the accused came forward and shouted that since he (Mathew) is an Indian, he cannot conduct the mass,” Bhasi added.

Bhasi said the accused was arrested by Melbourne Police.

The priest is now said to be out of danger.

    As per reports, he told priest that he must be Hindu or Muslim before stabbing him. This should be a good eye opener to those minorities who copy European masters while ignoring/mocking their own sanathana heritage! Remember that you will be always an outsider in the eyes of white masters. For every idiot who tried to stab, there are tens of thousands who share the same biased attitude but decide not to show in public.

    By the way, any comments from Fr. Cdr Prakash who ridicules RSS/VHP/BJP for their association with sanathana heritage?

    Lies Seeker, which reports are you talking about? Why you giving it a communal twist by bringing in other religions that had nothing to do with the attack?
