Kudla’s Bharatanatyam Artist Saudamini Rao Katapadi enthralls Mysuru Audience

 

Mangaluru: Bharatanatyam artist Saudamini Rao Katapadi hailing from Mangaluru has performed a solo Bharatanatyam recital at Kalamandiara , Mysore as a part of Nadahabba Mysore Dasara Festival -2018.

Saudamini commenced the program with a Pushpanjali choreographed by Guru Rama Vaidyanathan in Raga Rasikapriya Trishra Triputa tala. The recital continued with a Shambu Natanam a composition of the great Sage Patanjali Muni in praise of Lord Shiva set to Latantapriya raga in Khanda Nade choreographed by Guru Rama Vaidyanathan.

The third item was an Amba Stuthi, a Devi stuthi which started off with a Dhyana shloka picked from the Lalita Sahasranama and continued with the verses from the Rajarajeshwari Ashtakam. Saudamini herself has choreographed this piece.The artist concluded her recital with a Marathi Bajan Rusali Radha Rusala Madhav penned by Adi Rangeshwara which has been conceptualized as a Padam by Guru Bragha Bessel.

Saudamini enthralled the audience with her crisp and clear movements as well as enchanting enactment which came in for all-round appreciation.

Saudamini Rao is the daughter of Er. Arun Prabha, and Smt. Asha Kiran who is a Master of Dance (M Dance) post graduate in Barathanatyam.
