Kundapur Ex-MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty back in BJP fold
Bengaluru: Former Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty rejoined the BJP in the presence of top party leaders in Bengaluru on Friday.
Shetty had won the Kundapur Assembly seat twice on the BJP ticket. However, following differences with the party leadership, he quit the BJP in 2013 and won as an Independent.
Earlier this week, he tendered his resignation to Speaker Koliwad. Shetty said he was returning to the BJP as he was indebted to the party for making him MLA twice. BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa inducted Shetty back to the party fold.
It is said there is opposition to Shetty joining the party in the BJP’s Kundapur unit.
