- Disney Television star is part of DSS Starz program of Dubai Summer Surprises
The highly popular Disney Television star Laura Marano visited Modhesh World as part of the ‘Talent Extravaganza’ show which took place at the popular edutainment destination on Wednesday, 5 August, 2015.
Hundreds of fans from different parts of the world arrived at Modhesh World to catch a glimpse of the multitalented personality and take the opportunity to meet the young Hollywood star who is in the Middle East for the first time ever as part of the DSS Starz series – an exciting new addition to Dubai Summer Surprises’packed calendar of events, that brings young global icons closer to their fans in Dubai.
At Modhesh World, Laura was seen cheering for a number of young talents who took to the stage to dazzle the celebrity with their song and dance performances.She was joined by Muna Al Falasi from Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) as well as popular Virgin Dubai Radio presenter A2L.
Darsh, a 10-year-old boy from India, emerged as the winner followed by 18-year-old Tala Mahdy from Tunisia who was announced as the first runner up and 18-year-old Noora Tamimi from Yemen came in third.
Applauding the efforts of all the participants, Laura said: “I am very pleased to be a part of this wonderful event as it gives young talents an amazing platform to showcase their talents. I have heard a lot about Dubai and its exciting festivals and I hope that my presence here today will help continue reinforcing DSS’ position as a festival that inspires young artists and encourages them to pursue their passion.”
Her appearance at Modhesh World came just a day prior to her long-awaited musical concert at Nakheel’s Ibn Battuta Mall in China Court, which will take place tonight (Thursday, 6 August) in China Court at 5:30pm.
Commenting on the event, Suhaila Ghubash, Director, Festivals and Events, DFRE, congratulated all the young talents and extended her deepest gratitude to Laura Marano for supporting and encouraging all the contestants who participated in the Talent Extravaganza at Modhesh World.
Dubai Summer Surprisesand Modhesh World are organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). The 16th edition of Modhesh World, which kicked off on 9 July 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre and runs until 29 August under the theme- ‘Every step is a new adventure’, has many other features and facilities including exclusive souvenir shops showcasing Modhesh World memorabilia, an array of dining outlets featuring a variety of cuisines, in addition to two dedicated lounges for families to relax.
