‘Learning should be achieved through pleasure & not with pressure’- Manjunath Bhandary

Mangaluru: Srinivas Gowda R, IPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City & Girish Shivanna, Founder & CEO, Test Yantra Software Solutions, were the guests for the Fresher’s Day held at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru on 24th Aug’ 2019.

During the Inaugural ceremony, Chairman Manjunath Bhandary in his introductory remarks reiterated that students should enjoy 4 years of Engineering in the right direction in this institution. He stated, “Learning should be achieved through pleasure & not with pressure”. He highlighted the achievements of the Guests and how they have reached the heights of success in their life by adopting the working culture through dedication and commitment. The lighting of the lamp marked the inauguration of the programme.

Srinivas Gowda R, is a 2016 batch IPS officer, currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalore. He secured All India 105 Rank in UPSC Civil Service Examination & got into IPS borne to Karnataka Cadre. He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Communication from Bangalore Institute of Technology. He addressed the students on the importance of being updated with the current affairs in this competitive world. He also encouraged them to have the foresight of their career and excel in their particular field. He advised students to choose their peer group wisely. He concluded with a few success mantras to the audience.

Girish Shivanna, is a seasoned executive, leader, Founder & CEO of Test Yantra Software Solutions, QSpiders&JSpiders and Flagroot. Over the years Girish has played pivotal roles & has been instrumental in co-founding a number of companies. He has trained a lot of people under his leadership in IT services.

He portrayed his own life as an example of how a person can be successful. He mentioned students that getting good marks is as important as understanding the subject. He appreciated the Chairman for his thoughtful perception. He was also overwhelmed to see the first-year student’s projects.

Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, the Principal, gave away the presidential address. The formal function was followed by cultural events by the first-year students. The students put up an energizing show with dance and singing performance.
