Liquor from Goa seized on train

Udupi: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel in Madgaon-Mangaluru Central Passenger train on February 8, seized liquor from Goa worth Rs 3300 being illegally transported on a train at Karwar.

A release from the Konkan Railway Corporation here said that the RPF while in the process of checking, particularly in view of smuggling cheap liquor to Karnataka.

During the inspection of the Madgaon-Mangaluru Central Passenger train, they noticed an unclaimed cartoon box containing various brands of liquor worth Rs 3300 from Goa in the general compartment. The unclaimed cartoon box was seized by the authorities.
