LPG Tanker Overturns at Bantwal – Traffic Diverted

Mangaluru: A gas tanker overturned at Surikumeru Bantwal here on April 19.

According to Police, on April 19, at around 12:30 am a gas tanker which was plying from Mangaluru to Bengaluru when the driver lost control while negotiating a curve overturned at Surikumeru Bantwal.

As gas started to leak from the tanker during the night the situation was tense creating panic among the people in the area. The crisis handling team from MRPL has reached the spot and are trying to cap the leakage.

Traffic movement on the Bantwal road has been blocked and vehicles have been diverted towards Kalladka – Vittla – Kabaka – Puttur Road.

More than 10 Fire Brigades from Mangaluru, Puttur, and other places have rushed to the spot.

Bantwal Circle Inspector speaking to mangalorean.com said that we have taken all safety measures and have shifted the people from the area to avoid any untoward incidents.
