LS Polls 2019: MP Candidate Mithun Rai Casts his Vote, Helps Elderly Man

Mangaluru: The Lok Sabha elections began in all the 1861 polling booths in the district at 7:00 am.

Early in the morning, there was a moderate response from the electorate. The polling is reported to be going on peacefully.

Elections are being held for the Lok Sabha in all the 8 constituencies, the Mangalore South, Mangalore North, Ullal, Moodbidri, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia.

MP Candidate Mithun Rai arrived at the Government Girls Higher Primary School at 7:15 am to cast his vote.

When Mithun Rai was standing in the queue, an old man came to the polling booth to cast his vote. Immediately Mithun came to his help and assisted him to get into the wheelchair. The man was later taken inside the polling booth to cast his vote.

The 83-year-old Ramesh Rao thanked Mithun Rai and blessed him for his humbleness and down to earth nature in helping the elderly people.

After casting his vote addressing the mediapersons Mithun Rai said, “Today morning I went to Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple and Visited the Raghavendra Math and prayed for the smooth functioning of the voting process. Today at 7:15 am I came to Government Girls Higher Primary School to cast my vote. I urge the people of DK to join hands and bless me.”

When asked about Dakshina Kannada being the stronghold of BJP, Mithun said, “I want Dakshina Kannada district to be the stronghold of Harmony.”
