London, Jan 14 (IANS) Israeli Guy Luzon has been appointed as the new head coach of Charlton Athletic, the English second-tier club announced.

Luzon succeeds Belgian Bob Peeters, who was sacked Sunday after a 0-1 loss at home to Brighton and Hove Albion that left Charlton in 14th place in the Championship, 10 points below the play-offs, reported Xinhua.

Luzon becomes the fourth manager that Charlton have appointed since they were taken over by Belgian businessman Roland Duchatelet in January 2014.

“I am happy to have joined Charlton and will work as hard as I can to try and make the club successful,” Luzon told the club web site Tuesday.
