Malpe: Young Model Found Dead at Residence in Kalmady
Udupi: A 27-year-old woman, who had made a name for herself in the modelling industry, was found dead at her residence under the Malpe Police Station limits on Thursday. Police suspect the death to be a case of suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Krithi Bangera (27), daughter of Ratna, and a resident of Kalmady.
Krithi was well known in the modelling field and had been working at a private hotel near Kadiyali in Udupi. However, she had reportedly stopped attending work and had been staying at home for the past five months.
According to the complaint filed by her mother, Ratna, she had left for work in Malpe on the morning of August 6, while her younger daughter had gone to Udupi for work. When Ratna returned home at around 1 p.m., Krithi allegedly asked her to remain outside and locked the house from inside.
After receiving no response despite repeatedly knocking on the door, Ratna called her brother, Chandra, for assistance. They broke open the door and entered the house, where they found Krithi hanging from the ceiling fan in a bedroom using a veil.
According to preliminary information, Krithi had been experiencing emotional distress over the past several days, and police suspect this may have led to the incident.
A case of Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered at the Malpe Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
