Man Arrested in Bengaluru for Derogatory Comment against U T Khader on Social Media

Mangaluru: The Kadri police have arrested a man in connection with a derogatory comment against the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, on the Social Media for the ‘Hello Minister Programme’.

The arrested has been identified as Divya Prasad (35) from Moodbidri.

According to the police, two weeks ago there was a programme “Hello Minister”, which was relayed in the social media for which Divya Prasad had posted a derogatory comment against Minister U T Khader. In this connection, a case was filed in the Kadri Police Station. On August 10, Divya Prasad was arrested in Bengaluru and brought to Mangaluru on August 11.

Speaking to mangalorean.com Minister U T Khader said, “Two weeks ago, Divya Prasad had posted a derogatory comment on the facebook page against me for the “Hello Minister” TV programme. My well-wishers Ashraf Monu, Boliyar Taluk Panchayat member Jabbar and Panchayat member Sukur were hurt by the comment and filed a complaint in the Kadri police station without my knowledge.”

U T Khader further said, “Earlier when similar incidents had occurred I did not allow them to file complaints. I always say, only sick minded people use such language and expose themselves what they are in this civilized society. Without my knowledge, they had filed a case against Divya Prasad and the Kadri Police have arrested him.”

Divya Prasad has been booked under section 507 IPC and 67 IT act. He will be produced before the court. The operation was carried out by the Kadri Police team led by Inspector Maruti Nayak.
