Man Decapitates Wife for Illicit Relationship, Carries Head to Police Station

Chikkamagaluru: A man decapitated his wife suspecting her of an illicit relationship with another man. The man then carrying the severed head travelled by bus to the Ajjampura police station and surrendered on September 9.

Satish who owns a chicken shop had married Roopa nine years ago. Satish and Roopa have two children.

According to Satish, he was suspicious of his wife having an illicit relationship with a man. On September 9, while he came back from the shop he saw his wife with a man in the bathroom. Enraged by it, Satish got a machete and decapitated Roopa. Her boyfriend succeeded to flee from the spot.

After the crime, Satish took the severed head with him and travelled by bus to the Ajjampura police station which is about 20 kilometres away from his house and surrendered to the police. After surrendering Satish said, “I was working as a bus driver in the National private bus in Bengaluru. Later I opened my own chicken shop and asked my wife Roopa to take care of the business. But she did not show any interest in taking care of the business. Instead, she was enjoying with her boyfriend. We were fighting often but our relatives used to intervene and advise us to patch up for the sake of our children. Still, Roopa was not ready to change”.

Satish also said, “I have two children a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old daughter. I have dropped them at my father’s house and brought her severed head to the police station.”

The Ajjampura police have registered a case under section 302 IPC and are investigating. Satish was arrested and produced before the court.
