Man Dressed up as Woman along with Partner Arrested for Blackmailing and Extortion

Mangaluru: The Urwa police have arrested two persons including a man dressed up as a Woman on October 2 in connection with a blackmailing and extortion case in Bengaluru.

The arrested have been identified as Aditya alias Ashwini (19) from Yashwantpur and Arun H S (27) from Kanakapur, Bengaluru.

According to the Police, accused Aradhya from Bengaluru had sent a friendship request to Harish (name changed) from Mangaluru on facebook. After he accepted her friendship request, Aradhya requested Harish to send her his photograph. As soon as Aradhya got his photograph, she demanded Rs 65,000 and threatened to file a complaint if he failed to pay the amount.  Harish out of fear paid Rs 65,000 to Aradhya in Yashwantpur, Bengaluru. Later Aradhya started to blackmail Harish and began calling him in the name of police officers or politicians.

Harish finally filed a case in the Urwa police station. On getting information, on October 2, the Urwa police reached Bengaluru and arrested Adithya alias Ashwini and Arun near Colombia Hospital Bengaluru and brought them to Mangaluru.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Aradhya was actually Aditya a man dressed as a woman. Both Aditya and Arun were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Under the direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh and under the guidance of DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashant and ACP Uday Nayak the operation was carried out by the  Urwa police Inspector Ravish and Urwa Police personnel.
