Mangaluru: Twentyone Aadhaar registration centres will start operating in the district very soon. Two will operate in the city in Atalji Janasnehi Kendra and Mangaluru One centre.
These 21 centres will operate on a full-fledged basis. Computers and software kits have already been supplied and trials have been held. The staff to man these centres are being trained in the work and operation.
Centres will operate in Mangaluru One points at Lal Bagh, Light-houe Hill, Kadri and Suratkal. Similarly Aadhaar applications will be handled at the Atalji Janasnehi centres near the Mangaluru taluk office, Thokkottu, Suratkal, Gurupur, Mulki, Bantwal, Panemangalore, Vittal, Beltangady, Venur, Kokkada, Puttur, Kadaba, Uppinangady, Sullia, Panja and Moodbidri.
Mangaluru One centres are already handling matters like water, power, telephone bill payments, KSRTC bus ticket bookings and the like. Now on Aadhaar will be an additional facility which can be obtained in these centres.
