What the lyrics of ‘5 Saal Kejriwal “in English means is : 5 Years for Kejriwal : Give us a full majority in the government….and witness the power of the common man; Give us a full majority in the government…and witness the power of the common man; We did it before..We’ll do it again….When there’ll be Kejriwal for 5 years; Delhi wants with all it’s heart…Kejriwal once again; In this time of inflation and increasing crime, Only a common man can support other common men; Delhi calls for Kejriwal once again! Delhi is yearning for Kejriwal once again; Delhi wants with all heart…Kejriwal once again”. Yes, Kejriwal has made it again by winning with thumping majority.

Kejriwal’s victory rally was taken out by local AAP members from Ambedkar Circle (Jyothi Circle) which culminated at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the premises of the Town Hall. Kids, young and old danced all along the route to the AAP tunes, and they all chanted “Kejriwal Zindabad”; “Jai Jai Kejriwal”; “Indu Delhi, Naale Illi” (meaning, Today Delhi, Tomorrow Here) and so on. The AAP revelers wearing AAP caps also carried AAP banners with meaningful slogans, some carried brooms (AAP party symbol) and some wore mask with the image of Kejriwal on it. The rally was inaugurated by Dr M Pinto, who is the Head of local AAP local Unit.

On reaching the end point of the rally, local AAP leader Alexander D’Souza holding a child in his hand garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. D’Souza extended his heartfelt thanks to AAP members, volunteers, and the general public for taking part in the rally. “The thumping victory for AAP in Delhi shows that the people in Delhi believe in a non-corrupt country, and they have full faith in AAP which will strive hard to make India a corrupt-free country. People in Delhi have broken the barrier of caste by electing the AAP with thumping majority. Mangaluru should also see that here. The ideology of AAP should spread all over India. We all need to work hand in hand and unity to make India a corruption-free country and number one nation in the world.” added Alexander D’souza.

Another AAP activist, Imtiyaz speaking to the crowd said, ” The election results in Delhi has proven that the power of common people. We Mangaloreans should follow in the footsteps of Delhites and replicate the success of Delhi, and we should work together to strengthen the local AAP, and fight all the corrupt activities that are taking place in the various civic departments here”. Rajendra Kumar, local AAP treasurer said, “Following last Delhi elections, opposition party activists were making mockery of Arvind Kejriwal resembling him as AK-49, since he lasted only 49 days in the office as CM of Delhi. How about now, where people have once again given a chance to Kejriwal, with his party bagging 67 seats out of 70. Kejriwal should be commended as AK-67. We can see now that the steps towards building a corruption-free India has started in Delhi, and we all should work together to see that corrupt-free awareness is spread all over the country,” .

Speaking to mangalorean.com after the rally, AAP-DK unit secretary Roshan Shiri said, “We are trying to strengthen our party here in the future by increasing membership throughout the district. Our party’s victory in Delhi has given hope to the citizens of India that not everything is lost. India still has the hopes of regaining its former glory. February 10 will go down in history as the day that began the formation of a corrupt-free India. Local AAP members have also rendered our support in the Delhi elections- we have taken part in the Delhi campaign by going there for couple of weeks. We made calls to the residents of Delhi to support AAP and also asked them to vote for a corrupt-free candidate. I can say that we (local AAP members) did play a vital role in the success of the Delhi election, and we feel proud of it. We are all ready to strengthen our DK-AAP and will campaign to increase our membership, for we want to make Mangaluru/India a corrupt-free city/nation. Yes, we can do it”.
