Mangaluru: A B Ibrahim Inaugurates exhibition of Devaraj Urs Photographs

Mangaluru: The information department organized the inaugural programme of the exhibition of Photographs of former Chief Minister of Karnataka Devaraj Urs at the Mini Vidhana Soudha premises here on February 25.

Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. Later he viewed all the photographs of Devaraj Urs along with the students and the CEO of ZP Sreevidya.

Addressing the mediapersons A B Ibrahim said, “When Devaraj Urs was the Chief minister, he brought social revolution in the state. He became the voice of the poor and worked for the welfare of the backward community. Urs gave importance to education for the backward classes and built hostels for students of the minority and backward communities. He is one of the greatest social reformer in Karnataka. He brought land reformation and made the tiller of the land as the land owner to reduce the discrimination between the rich and the poor. He also brought social equality by abolishing the bonded labour system”.

The DC further said that the exhibition will help the children to learn more about the former Chief minister Devaraj Urs, his contribution and achievements.

Information officer Khader Shah was also present. Various photographs of Devaraj Urs were exhibited.
