Mangaluru: Janardhan Poojary held a press meet at the District Congress Office here on January 30.

Addressing to the mediapersons, Poojary said, “Around a week ago a woman police officer, DYSP Anupama Shenoy posted at Kudligi Police Sub-Division in Bellary, got a transfer notice to Vijayapura district. She had completed her Graduation at St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru and was a sincere and clever student. Her parents educated her with great difficulty. There is a big conspiracy behind Anupama Shenoy’s abrupt transfer.

The officer was shunted out because she was investigating the case of the minister Parameshwar Naiks’ relative. However Naik denies the fact of his relative being involved in any case. I would like to ask our Chief Minister, why is he keeping his mouth shut on this issue? These acts bring shame to our party. There is no place for corrupt people in our party and it is our Chief Minister’s duty not to keep such people in the cabinet.”

“It is not enough to do ‘walkathon’ to Bellary, you should fulfill your duties as well. It is your duty to give ‘Shuddh Sarkara’ to the state. The Chief Minister has got an opportunity to prove himself by looking into the matter and investigating the truth,” he added.

Speaking on the Rohit Vemula suicide case he said, “Last night Congress Vice-President, Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Hyderabad University campus to participate in a candle light march along with the students. Rahul spent the night with the protesting students in the campus along with the family members of Rohith Vemula. Knowing he was from a lower caste and didn’t have support, the right wing conspired and suppressed his freedom of expression with unjust punishment.”

“Rahul Gandhi supported because he has human qualities. On this ABVP students protested against Rahul Gandhi by shouting ‘Go Back Gandhi.’ What is wrong in supporting a protest for a good cause? Why can’t Modi support the students, just like Rahul Gandhi does? Parliament Members must question the government or they will become dictators. We want answer from Modi Ji,” Poojary said.

“Congress demands the sacking of HRD minister Smriti Irani and Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya and also the removal of Vice Chancellor, Appa Rao in the wake of suicide by the Dalit scholar,” he added.

Deputy Mayor Purshottam and other congress leaders were also present at the press meet.
