Mangaluru: The Bunder police have arrested Prasad Attavar, in connection with the comments sent through his social media account on Facebook in regard to the killing of Dr Kalburgi, at the Old Bus Stand here, on September 3.
It is learnt that a comment on Dr Kalburgi’s killing saying that “if anyone comments on Hindu gods, they will face the same consequences” was published in the name of Prasad Attavar. Based on the comment a suo-moto case was filed against Prasad Attavar and he was detained for questioning.
On August 31, The Bantwal police had taken co-convenor of Bajrang Dal, Bhuvith Shetty into custody after he claimed to be responsible on social media for the shoot out that killed renowned Indian scholar Dr M M Kalburgi on August 30 at his residence.
