Mangaluru: Decomposed Female Body Found, Husband Arrested

Mangaluru: A decomposed female Body was found in a remote area at Kancharu, Ullal here on February 10.

The deceased has been identified as Shobha (21), a native of Badami. On February 10, when a passerby went to the area to answer nature’s call, he found a female body in a decomposed state. He immediately informed the people in the area. Locals gathered at the place, and also informed the police about the decomposed body.

The Ullal police reached the spot for investigation. According to locals, Shobha and her husband Muthappa were staying in a rented house in Beeri. Muthappa was working as a daily wage labourer and Shobha without having a permanent job was staying at home most of the time. From the past three days Shobha was missing, when asked about Shobha with her husband Muthappa said that she had gone to her native place in Bagalkot.

After recovering the body the police got suspicious and searched the house of Muthappa. During the search, police found blood stains in the house and also signs of attempt being made to destroy evidence. It is also learnt that both husband and wife used to fight regularly after consuming alcohol. It is suspected that in a inebriated state both got into a fight and Muthappa might have killed her.

When the body was found Muthappa was working in Kolya. The police took Muthappa to custody for further investigation.

A case has been registered in Ullal police station.
