Mangaluru: To mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the district administration had organized the Chidren’s festival “Makkala Habba”, at Pilikula on November 14 and 15, but due to the recent developments and the section 144 imposed in the city, it has been postponed.
On November 12, night Harish from Vagga, Halegate, Bantwal Taluk was killed by unidentified persons and another person Samiulla was critically injured. In this connection the Bajrang Dal called for a bundh on November 13. To avoid any untoward incidents the district administration has taken all the necessary measures and imposed section 144 in the district.
The section may extend depending on the situation. To avoid disappointment the district administration has decided to postpone the Children’s festival. The date for the ‘Makkala Habba’ will be announced shortly.
