Mangaluru: The state government has appointed a new commissioner to the City Corporation. The government has officially announced Dr H N Gopalakrishna KAS as the new commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation on August 5.
Hephisba Rani was transferred to Vijayapura on June 12, since some of the councillors were against her way of functioning. From June 12, 2015 there was no commissioner for the Mangalore City corporation.
Dr Gopalakrishna is presently working as Additional deputy commissioner of Hassan. The state government has transferred 49 officers to various places.
Additional deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Sadashiv Prabhu has been transferred to Udupi and Additional deputy commissioner of Udupi Kumar has been transferred to DK district.
Dr Gopalakrishna will be taking charge soon.
