Mangaluru: Fallout of Harish Murder – BJP Calls for District Bundh

Mangaluru: A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death at Vagga Helegate, Bantwal Taluk here, on November 12.

The deceased has been identified as Harish (28), a resident of Vagga.

It is learnt that Harish was on his way home and as he was walking on the road, unidentified persons arrived on a Santro car and stabbed him. Harish died on the spot. His friend Samiulla was also injured in the attack. He has been shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru and his condition is said to be critical.

Harish body has been sent for post mortem. The Bantwal police are investigating the case. Section 144 has been imposed throughout the district in light of these incidents.

Speaking to the mediapersons District Convenor of Bajrang Dal Sharan Pumpwell said that on November 13, Bajrang Dal and VHP had called for a Rasta Roko for one hour from 11 am to 12noon against the State government in connection with the recent death of VHP leader Kuttappa in Madikeri and for celebrating the Birth anniversary of Tipu Sultan, but today some unidentified persons killed Harish. We condemn the killing of the Hindu youth and we call for the district Bundh on November 13.

Capt Ganesh Karnik said that in Madikeri Kuttappa was killed while celebrating Tipu Jayanti. Today a Hindu youth has been killed. We condemn the anti Hindu policy by the State government. VHP and BD has called for Rasta Roko on November 13, but after the death of Harish, the Bajrang Dal has called for a district bundh. On behalf of BJP, we support the bundh. He urged the people to be a part of the bundh.

President of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike Satyajit Suratkal said that on November 13, we thought of having a rasta roko for one hour, but in the district there has been continuous attack on the Hindu community, many innocent Hindu youth have been killed. The government should keep the anti social organizations such as the KFD and PFI under control. He also said that we need peace and harmony in the society, all those taking part in the bundh should maintain peace. He also said that the government instead of curbing moral policing, should act on those organizations trying to create communal violence. He also said that the Hindu Jagarana Vedike supports the bundh on November 13, so that our voice will reach the state government.
