Mangaluru: The city crime bureau police received a reliable tip-off about five persons waiting in a silver-coloured Maruti Omni car and planning for a murder at Kannur ferry point on Wednesday morning.
The team led by inspector Valentine D’Souza nabbed them in time. They have been identified as Basit (21), residing near Shadi Mahal in Pandeshwar, Zia aka Riaz A K (30) from Adyarkatte, Muhammed Fazal (21) from Ammemar in Kannur and Ajmal aka Ajju (22) from Ballurgudde in Kannur.
They were involved in crimes in the past also according to police investigations.
The case has been handed over to the Kankanady rural police station located in Maroli.
