Mangaluru: Five Students Injured After Wall Collapses at Sabha Bhavan
Mangaluru: Five students were injured after a supporting wall collapsed at Rama Lakshmi Hall near Yemmekere Cross on Saturday, September 26.
According to preliminary information, students had gathered at the Sabha Bhavan for a ceremony to mark the installation of office-bearers. Due to overcrowding, some students standing in the corridor reportedly leaned against a supporting wall. The wall, which was apparently weak, gave way, causing several students to fall and sustain injuries.
The injured were shifted to Highland Hospital in Mangaluru for treatment. One of the injured is reported to be in critical condition, with preliminary reports suggesting severe brain injury.
The injured have been identified as Mohammed Shamaz (16), Mohammed Shanan Ahmed (18), Haneef ( 23), Dawood Farsin Ahmed (18), and Mohammed Shakeel Hussain (18).
All five injured students are undergoing treatment at Highland Hospital in Mangaluru.
