Mangaluru: Guest Lecture by Renowned Geriatric Medicine Specialist from Israel

Mangaluru: Prof A Mark Clarfield renowned Geriatric Medicine Specialist from Israel gave a lecture on “Whether our children will be healthier in their old age than we in ours” to the Department of Medicine, KMC Hospital, Mangalore.

Dr Clarfield received his MD from the University of Toronto in 1975 after which he specialized in Family Medicine, Community Medicine, Public Health and Geriatrics. He later joined as faculty of medicine at McGill University during the period 1978 – 1992 where he served as Chief of Geriatrics at the Sir Mortimer B Davis – Jewish General Hospital as well as Head of the McGill University division of Geriatric Medicine. He was also the Assistant Dean of students at the Faculty of Medicine from 1989 – 92. From 1994 to 2001 he served as Head of Division of Geriatrics at the Ministry of Health in Jerusalem and as Head of Geriatrics at the Soroka Hospital. He was also appointed as the Israeli Program Director of the Medical School for International Health at the Ben Gurion University in 2009.

Dr Clarfield is in Mangaluru as a Chief Guest for the College Day & Reward Ceremony of Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru held on 20th March 2015.
