Mangaluru: Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, will enhance international connectivity with the introduction of a new direct daily linking Mangaluru, one of the top business destinations and a key port city of Karnataka, with Abu Dhabi, UAE’s commercial capital, said the Chief Commercial Officer of Jet Airways Raj Sivakumar in a press meet held at the airport premises here on March 29.
This is the second flight to the Gulf from Mangaluru with a daily existing connection to Dubai.
As part of the airline’s plan to enhance global connectivity from India’s emerging metros, the introduction of this new service will allow customers to avail multiple travel options through Abu Dhabi to popular destinations in Europe, North America, and the Gulf.
Raj Sivakumar, the Chief Commercial Officer of Jet Airways, said, “Jet Airways has always been interested in Mangaluru. This was one of our first airports ever since we commenced our operation. Jet Airways is pleased to provide a daily service from Mangaluru to Abu Dhabi, an indication of the airline’s commitment to connect India’s emerging cities to international gateway points and destinations with direct and one stop flights. Moreover, the new service will cater to an overwhelming demand from a large number of Indians settled in the Gulf and those wanting to travel overseas on business and tourism form Mangaluru and its neighbouring areas. This will not only help us serve the ever growing market between Mangaluru and the UAE, but also leverage our partnership with our strategic partner Etihad Airways to connect more than 130 destinations beyond Abu Dhabi which include several points in North America, Europe, the Gulf and Africa.”

Jet Airways 9W 502 will depart Mangaluru at 1750 hrs and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 2020 hrs (Local Time). The return flight 9W 501 will depart Abu Dhabi at 0845 hrs (LT) and arrive in Mangaluru at 1345 hrs. This flight will also be code shared by Jet Airways’ strategic partner Etihad Airways.
Customers travelling from in and around Mangaluru, can now enjoy the advantage of direct seamless connectivity from home cities to Abu Dhabi with one stop connections to international destinations such as Brussels, Frankfurt, Edinburgh, Munich, Manchester, Dusseldorf, Belgrade, Rome and Paris in Europe and Muscat, Riyadh, Bahrain, Doha, Dammam, Jeddah and Kuwait in Gulf, and Cairo in Africa with Jet Airways’ strategic partner Etihad Airways and other partner airlines.
On the Mangaluru-Abu Dhabi route, the airline will deploy Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft, where Premiere and Economy customers may enjoy the airline’s famed in-flight service, its award-winning in-flight entertainment and the airline’s concept of its hallmark hospitality.
