Prior to the rally speaking on the occasion, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the first prime minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru had said that he was ashamed of calling himself a Hindu, among the prime ministers, our present Prime minister Narendra Modi is proud to say that he is a Hindu. He further said that India is a Hindu nation and If we want to see a Hindu nation according to Swami Vivekananda we should be united.
Recalling the story of a poisonous snake which had taken over a road on which people were scared to walk, and said, “One day when the Swamijis were passing through that road, they advised the snake not to trouble the people, the snake listened to  them and stopped troubling the people. Seeing the snake, later people started to pelt stones on it. After a year when the swamijis were passing through the same road, they saw the snake was in a very bad condition and was about to die. When the Swamijis asked the snake what had happened, the snake said, “According to your advise, I stopped troubling people, but they got courage seeing me silent and stoned me”. The Swamijis replied to the snake and said, “we had advised you not to harm the people but did we  tell you to be quiet when people attack you?. If you would have raised your voice, people would not have assaulted you”. Likewise we have to raise our voice when we are assaulted, he said.
He also said that the Hindu community did not harm any other religion, instead it has strived to instill patriotism among the people. VHP is teaching the Hindu community to increase their devotion and patriotism. Hindu Samajotsava is a festival and we have to join hands with the VHP to make it a grand success. We are not here to show our muscle power but we are here to unite all the Hindus. The vehicle Jatha is to invite everyone for the celebration of the Vishwa Hindu Parishat’s golden jubilee. Today through the vehicle jatha youth will go to every house to invite everyone for the Hindu Samajotsava. He urged the youth to go to every house and invite everyone for the Samajotsava.
Speaking on the occasion Swami Rajashekarananda said, “On February 19, at Shivamogga, when PFI shouted slogans praising Pakistan, so far  the government has not taken any action against them. but we have been booked for shouting patriotic slogans or for reciting Bhagavad Gita or for trying to unite our community. By eating Indian food, living on Indian soil and shouting zindabad Pakistan, no one has been arrested. If we recite Vande Matharam or Jai Matha ki we are being tagged as communal. Our district minister in-charge always stresses about the minority votes, do he not need the vote of Hindus? he questioned. Ganesh Rao is running a reputed college where students from all walks of life come to pursue education in his institution, he is proud to say he is a Hindu. Why our politicians do not say that they are Hindus”? he questioned.

He also said that the Hindu religion, Sangh Parivar and Hindu organizations has been always criticized, but now they have started to criticize Hindu religious books. The government is not taking any action against them. We need to join hands to save our religion and religious books, he said.
Former MLA Yogish Bhat, M B Puranik, Devanand Shetty and Sharan Pumpwell were also present.
