Mangaluru: Mars Mission SLV Model to be Displayed in Flower Exhibition

Mangaluru: The department of horticulture will organize its annual Flower exhibition From February 14 to 17, 2015 at the Kadri Park said the Deputy Director of Horticulture Yogesh H R in a press meet held at the park here on February 12.

Addressing the mediapersons, Yogesh H R said that the annual flower show will feature variety of flowers and plants.

He said that the flower show will be inaugurated by the district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai along with other ministers. The show will be open to the public and anyone can participate in the exhibition and display their artistic talents in arranging flowers, and carvings with plants and fruits. To meet the expenses of the exhibition and to maintain the horticulture we are Charging a entry fee of Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children. For schools arranging to send children in large numbers the entry will be free.

A wide range of flowers like marigold, orchid, anthorium, dhalia, jarbera, gladiolus, celosia and other ornamental plants grown by the horticulture department will be exhibited at the Kadri Flower exhibition, he said. The flower exhibition will be open for 4 days.

Special attraction of the exhibition will be the model of the Mars Mission Satellite launch vehicle which will be exhibited and made with 15,000 Dutch roses and other flowers. To promote the terrace garden, the horticulture department has made a model of the Terrace garden. There will be flower arrangement competitions and anyone can take part in the contest.

Various flower seeds, garden machinery’s, manure and plants will be available for sale in the various stalls set up.

Laxmi Rao Aroor, Nemiraj Konde, Sharada Achar, Judith Mascarenhas and N V KBatrakodi were also present at the meet.
